About the Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship programme is structured to equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to become Qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanics, accredited by the QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupations). Successful candidates will be registered as Unemployed Apprentices (18.2) with the relevant SETA and Trollope Mining Services.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Grade 10 to Grade 12 with technical subjects:
- N1–N3 Mathematics
- N1–N3 Science
- N1–N3 Engineering Drawing & Design
- N1–N3 Diesel Trade Theory
- Valid South African Driver’s License (attach proof)
- South African citizenship (attach ID copy)
- Age between 19 and 25 years
- Medically fit for duty
- Strong communication, people, and time management skills
- Able to work under pressure and detail-oriented
Stipend and Agreement
- Selected learners will receive a monthly entry-level stipend
- A training contract will be signed with:
- The relevant SETA
- Trollope Mining Services (as an Unemployed Apprentice)
