Key Responsibilities
As a Casual Retail Assistant, you will:
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist shoppers in finding products that suit their needs.
- Handle sales transactions at the till point accurately.
- Ensure stock is displayed neatly and replenished when required.
- Unpack cartons and manage stockroom duties efficiently.
- Keep the shop floor clean, tidy, and visually appealing.
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times.
- Assist with closing duties in the evenings, ensuring the store is secure and ready for the next trading day.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (essential for communication with diverse customers).
- Matric (Grade 12) certificate completed.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Must be physically able to climb up and down ladders and lift/unpack cartons.
- Must be able to work weekends and commit to working until 20:00 (closing time at Tygervalley Shopping Centre).
- Previous retail or fashion experience will be advantageous but not essential.
- Must be available to start by 1 September 2025.
