Job Description: Junior Merchandiser
As part of the Learnership Programme, successful candidates will be trained to work as Junior Merchandisers. This role involves a range of responsibilities designed to ensure that retail shelves are stocked and presented optimally to attract customers and drive sales. Below is a detailed overview of the key duties and expectations for Junior Merchandisers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Determine Stock to be Merchandised:
Junior Merchandisers will assess which stock items need to be displayed on the shelves, ensuring that popular and high-demand products are always available to customers.
2. Draw Stock Requirements:
Participants will learn how to draw stock requirements accurately, ensuring that the right amount of product is ordered and available for merchandising.
3. Check Vintage and Product Quality:
Maintaining high standards, Junior Merchandisers will inspect product quality on the shelf, including checking vintage items and ensuring stock rotation is followed to keep products fresh and appealing.
4. Execute Merchandising Activities:
Following the cycle brief, candidates will carry out merchandising activities, arranging products in an attractive and organized manner to maximize visibility and sales potential.
5. Feedback on Customer Complaints and Queries:
Junior Merchandisers will act as a bridge between customers and the store management, providing feedback on customer complaints, queries, and requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
Programme Requirements
To be eligible for the Managed People Solutions Learnership Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age between 18 and 28 years old.
- Must have completed Grade 12, with passes in Mathematics and English.
Programme Duration
This comprehensive Learnership Programme will run for 6 months, from August 2024 to January 2025. Throughout this period, participants will receive hands-on training and mentorship, preparing them for a successful career in the retail industry.
