Khumani Mine is offering five exciting engineering learnership fields for 2025:

• Instrumentation Mechanician
• Plater/Welder
• Fitter
• Electrician
• Millwright

Minimum Entry Requirements

To ensure success, candidates must meet specific academic and technical requirements. Applicants are reminded to clearly indicate their trade of interest on their application.

General Requirements:

• South African citizen with a valid ID.
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (compulsory for all fields).
• Computer literacy (basic level).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence.
• Certified medically fit under the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.

Trade-Specific Requirements:

• Instrumentation Mechanician – Grade 12 with Maths & Science; Instrumentation Mechanician Engineering background.
• Plater/Welder – Grade 12 with Maths & Science plus Plater/Welder Engineering N2 certificate.
• Fitter – Grade 12 with Maths & Science plus Fitter Engineering N2 certificate.
• Electrician – Grade 12 with Maths & Science plus Electrical Engineering N2 certificate.
• Millwright – Grade 12 with Maths & Science plus Electrical & Fitter Engineering N2 certificate.

Preference will be given to candidates from the Gamagara and John Taolo Gaetsewe Municipal Areas in the Northern Cape.

What is an 18.2 Learnership?

The Khumani Mine Learnership falls under the category of 18.2 Learnerships, which are designed for external candidates (unemployed youth not previously employed by the company). The purpose is to provide unemployed individuals with valuable artisan skills and qualifications, creating opportunities for long-term employment in the mining and engineering sectors.
